New Features

A massive amount of new data is available to the user with the addition of over 100 new columns in a new easy to search interface. We've added a large variety of variance columns so users can easily track and quantify differences between schedule updates. We've also added an assortment of ordinal date columns (both working day ordinals and actual calendar day ordinals).

Sorting options have been expanded so that users can now sort by almost any column. Users can also now specify an unlimited number of sub-sorts. Column headers can now be double-clicked to quickly sort by that column.

Unsaved files are now auto-saved to a temporary location every 10 minutes to mitigate work lost due to unexpected shutdowns. Auto-save files can be found by selecting Auto-Saves in the Help menu.

Longest Path criticality has been redesigned by the new concept of Path Float. With Path Float users can now see not only the longest path but also paths that are near but shorter than the length of the longest path. Users can also make activities critical that are near the longest path or sort by how near the longest path an activity is. What is on the Longest Path hasn't changed but the amount of information available is now much greater enabling users to analyze their schedules with greater efficiency.

We've enabled unicode throughout Phoenix so international users can make use of the nearly limitless character set available through unicode.

Configuration of fonts, colors, and whether to show ID nodes in Network Diagram is now available in the new Format Network dialog.

Phoenix Project Manager's XML based file format has switched to uncompressed by default to allow for easier interoperability with other software. Users can enable compression to keep their project files smaller in the Project Info dialog found in the File menu.

The resource graph supports weeks, months, and years and can automatically switch between them as space dictates or be set by the user to specifically.

Physical Percent Complete added for percent complete that is independent of durations.

  • Code Rollup is now much faster
  • Significantly sped up scheduling
  • Significantly sped up calendar calculations
  • Significantly sped up reorganization of Barchart layouts
