The first setting in this window lets you choose whether to use the longest path to determine whether an activity is critical or to mark any activity with a total float below the specified amount as critical.

The appearance options allow you to define how the critical path will be shown. By selecting the Color button, you can choose the color that will be used for showing critical path elements. You can choose which elements of the critical path you would like to have drawn in this color by checking or unchecking the checkbox next to an element.

These are the elements you can choose to have colored when they are part of the critical path:

• Tasks
• Milestones
• Endpoints
• Relationships

By default, all elements will change color if marked as critical.
